Dhono Dhanyo Auditorium, a visually epulent architectural marvel is an embodiment of visualization by Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt. Mamata Bandopadhyay and was inaugrated on 13th April , 2023 by Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt. Mamata Bandopadhyay. Sprawled over an area of 4.5 Acres, this Conch shell-shaped auditorum has come into being under the supervision of PWD. Govt of W,B after 76 months construction preiod (Aug 2016 to Nov 2022)

Toll Plaza

Tata Structura hollow sections continue to inspire and encourage architects and structural engineers to explore unknown territories and experiment to give shape to their dream structures. Now, these professionals can face new challenges and soar unfettered to construct, create and innovate. The tensile fabric structure erected to augment the toll plaza at the NSCB International Airport in Kolkata exemplifies the versatility of the brand in the face of challenge. The project was initiated by the Airport Authority of India and the structural engineer was from NIT, Bhopal. The project spanned 350 sq.mtr and steel sections were supplied by Kedia Pipes to build the structures. The modern, world-class design of the airport demanded a toll plaza that would complement its stylish look. Tata Structura, with its flawless quality, flexibility and tensile strength was the unanimous choice. The easy availability of the requisite sizes along with on time delivery of the steel sections simplified the job and the results were appreciated by everyone concerned. Tata Structura provided value for money and fulfilled all design requisites. What emerged, showcased unique and beautiful shapes that did not look out of place. The project was successfully finished on time with reduced steel consumption. STAR Mall

Presenting a pioneer project where a large quantity of steel has been used to build the banquet hall on the 6″‘ floor at a height of 100 feet. The use of Tata Structura, provides impeccable strength and quality to this particular project.
The main challenge was in the making of a large structure on the roof of the 6h floor with a cantilever of 5 meters in the front, which made it difficult to lift large structures to the next floor. The size of the roof was 21.5 X 128 meters and due to the presence of four multiplexes in the 5th floor, some of the columns were missing at the top. The main concern while designing was the wind speed and safety of the people.
A great amount of effort was put into building this huge structure of 95 MT on the roof. It was important for the designer to calculate each part of the structure whilst designing the same, very carefully and aesthetically.
Star Mall is a premium shopping mall coming up in Madhyamgram and has attracted big names like Spencers, Pantaloons and Inox to be a part of it.
The client’s requirement was to have four banquet halls on the roof in a limited period of time. Calculating all the various parameters, steel was the only way to create a structure at this height that would also be light and where changes could be made if required, without incurring any losses.

Tata Structura hollow sections from Tata Steel, continue to inspire architects, engineers and designers to fly with their structural dreams. The brand has opened up new doors to usher in new possibilities that could give shape to the skyline of tomorrow’s India. The glass structure enclosure for VIPs and the media at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata, a project of the PWD, was a structural challenge which was successfully overcome by the use of Tata Structura. The structure covered a high span of 15 metres with 7 metres height. One of the major challenges was to ensure that the deflection of the galleries would not transmit to the new structure and the glass facade. Being a high span structure it needed to be aesthetically striking as well. Moreover, it had to be ensured that the boxes did not overlap anywhere while the structure needed to be built without any columns to avoid any obstruction to the view. Tata Structura being lightweight but sturdy proved to be ideal. 90 MT of hollow sections were used. The job of connecting and welding became easy due to the usage of Tata Structura. Fabrication and erection time was considerably reduced primarily due to the hollow sections. 25% (by weight) less steel was used which in turn reduced cost. Once again, Tata Structura successfully proved its worth by providing innovative, aesthetic and cost-effective solutions to overcome the challenges in the sporting arena.

Bengal Rowing Club

Kolkata The cover of the Bengal Rowing Club Swimming Pool, the talking point of the elite club, is another example of the commitment of Tata Structura to its customers. Tata Structura is a firm believer in its brand promise of delivering ‘the shape of things to come: The cover of the pool is an example of perfect free style strokes of constructional excellence that Tata Structura considers to be a feather in its cap. SPA Consultants were appointed as the structural engineers while Mr Ayan Sen was the architect on the project. The total area of the covering structure was 11,000 sq ft. Tata Structura emerged the first choice of the architect as quality and aesthetics were of utmost importance and only Tata Structura could bring the desired quality and service essential for facing the challenges that come with these kinds of ambitious projects. An aggregate of 60 metric tonnes of YST 310 RHS/SHS hollow sections were assimilated to give shape to the structure. Initially, maintaining uniformity of the curves and matching the imported Italian sheet posed a challenge. However, the impeccable quality and attributes of Tata Structura not only helped in turning the blue print into reality, but gifted a showpiece to the members of the club with its modern, world-class design and flawless finish. What’s more, Tata Structura turned out to be economical too compared to conventional steel sections as 15 to 18% less amount of steel was needed to complete the project. As always, Tata Structura did not fail to deliver. All the requisite sections were supplied right on time enabling the project to get completed as per schedule. The stupendous success of the project reinforced the client’s confidence in the brand and the outstanding creation was considered ‘a miracle of steel’ by the proud architect.

The Nabanna Auditorium in Kolkata was one such project where Tata Structura created a benchmark yet again. This project was close to the Chief Minister’s heart as well her office. Hence, no less than an impressive landmark needed to be created. Tata Structura Studio, along with Kedia Pipes, was involved as the designers and undertook this challenging project. The structure had to be strong and stylish and aesthetics were of utmost importance. Tata Structura Hollow Sections were the obvious choice for having pronounced advantages like superior bendability and ductility along with solid strength and economical edge. It took just 3 months to complete the structural fabrication.
It was a moment of joy and pride for Tata Structura when the results were appreciated by the Chief Minister and the Public Works Department. The task was no doubt challenging as it involved giving shape to the CM’s vision. No wonder the success bore testimony to the passion, pride and performance of Brand Tata Structura.

Creating a safe passage
The world class Dakshineswar Rani Rashmoni skywalk near Kolkata, a KMDA project, is a stark example of the extraordinary benchmark established by Tata Structura.The congested approach road to the heritage temple had become unsafe as devotees and vehicular traffic fought for space. About 180 road side shops needed to be shifted from the main road to an exclusive walkway leading to the temple. Hence this skywalk was essential for public safety.

Biswa Bangla Gate

The city’s icon stands to portray the image of the metropolis as united in strength, dynamic in progress and liberal in outlook for all streams of creativity. The design concept is an attempt to pay homage to Honorable Rabindranath Tagore and his composition ‘where the mind is without fear’.
The site chosen for this iconic structure is at the intersection of two major arterial roads. This is at the point of entry to New Town while coming from the Kolkata International Airport. Hence, this is the structure that creates the first impression of the city to a visitor. The sculpture has been made with Tata Structura, using a total steel of 400 MT, with two imposing arches stabilized with the ring walkway that facilitates visitors to experience an aerial view of the city skyline. The Construction Catalysers are the designers of this iconic structure; and materials have been supplied by our Business Development Partner – H Rajesh & Co. Tata Structura was chosen to be the ideal construction material to enhance the aesthetic value of this landmark project due to its flexibility, bendability and weldability features. The platform is a lightweight steel structure consisting of an approximate 8000sqft of air-conditioned enclosed space glazing on the outer periphery.
The idea was to give the visitors a memorable 360 degree experience of New Town from an elevated platform. The structure is made of totally recyclable materials like steel, glass and membrane. Being a pre-fabricated structure, the usage of materials has been minimal fora structure of such scale and grandeur.

Tata Structura has provided the architects, structural engineers and designers with the fuel to ignite their passion, throwing open new windows of possibilities. An ultra-modern showroom-cum-workshop & wash bay of Bhandari Automobiles for displaying and servicing Tata vehicles in Mollarpur, Rampurhat stands as a perfect example of constructional excellence that Tata Structura embodies. Krishkon Structurals were appointed the structural engineers and provided the architectural blue print as well. The total span of the structure was 23.16 M with 2100 Sq.M covered area. Tata Structura emerged as the first choice of the architects as quality, aesthetics and timely completion were of utmost importance. 110 MT of hollow sections were used to give shape to the structure which turned out to be considerably economical as steel consumption was reduced by 12.5%. RHS/SHS sections along with customized fabricated beams were used to construct the mezzanine floor. It was possible due to the strength, light weight, flexibility and high quality of Tata Structura. The result was a strong and safe, aesthetically appealing structure that met all the design parameters. Today, the building stands on the highway as a proud landmark that speaks volumes about the versatility and relevance of the brand. Once again, Tata Structura successfully reinforced its consumer’s confidence in its world-class attributes.
